A New Year and over 120 new customers!

The Staff at Maintenance Connection would like to wish you and your family a happy New Year! As we plan for 2012 and get excited about all that it has in store for our company, we wanted to take a moment to welcome over 120 new organizations to the Maintenance Connection family.

If you are a current Maintenance Connection customer, you understand the unique approach we take at our company. Many of you were instrumental in helping to bring these new customers on board by providing outstanding references. To both the new customers and our outstanding family of current customers, we say “thank you”, not only for making 2011 a great year, but for setting up 2012 to be the best year yet!

Make this Holiday a Game Changer

We have an inside joke at Maintenance Connection about “game changers”. We just like them. And we’re trying to create more of them by building more value for our customers with game changing software updates. We also hope our renewed vision of making a positive impact in our world through our MC Gives Back initiatives becomes our new purpose for working so hard.

In a year of game changers, we’re excited to have welcomed another 11 members to our team to help support our new customer growth. We made major strides internally to enhance the customer experience, including a new department called “Customer Experience” which focuses on just that. We had record attendance at Checkpoint 2011 in April. We took the first of what we expect to be annual trips out of the country to give back in Cambodia. Our staff enjoyed a great holiday celebration earlier this month. And now we look ahead to what is shaping up to be a game changing Version 6.0 targeted for release in 2012.

At Maintenance Connection, we’re counting our blessings this holiday season. We are heading into our ninth year since the original launch into the market and we’ll be making our way over the 1,000 customer threshold very soon. Our nearly 95% customer retention track record is something we’re proud of. We have a great culture of employees and customers who understand what we’re all about, and individually contribute to making Maintenance Connection great.

While we take this time of year to reflect on what’s important, don’t forget to count your blessings. Thank you to our customers and partners for another great year. And remember that game changers can be created. Do something for someone this year that makes their holiday season a game changer.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Maintenance Connection. Have a safe and fun New Year, and we look forward to big improvements in 2012 so we can continue creating a positive impact in our world.

Behind the Scenes @ Herakles Data Center

For those customers who have chosen to host Maintenance Connection in our production data center, we thought it would be helpful to show you what things look like behind the scenes. We partner with SAS 70 compliant Herakles Data Center, who also serves many other customers in their Sacramento location, and they have been delivering 99.999% availability since 2001. This is the primary hosting location for Maintenance Connection’s database and production servers, where several of our technical staff spend much of their day.

Here are a few interesting facts and photos about the data center:

  • The facility has four (4) two-megawatt Caterpillar diesel generators for backup power
  • Herakles employs 24x7x365 professional security services
  • The facility is cooled with six (6) 500-ton water cooled chiller units
  • Herakles uses Maintenance Connection’s CMMS software to track PMs and work orders

Click any of the photos below to take an Online Tour of the data center.

All I Want for Christmas….

Holiday shopping seems to be booming along this year – so it seemed like the perfect time to give our customers the opportunity to tell us what is on their “wish list” for features to include in our future releases. Development of Version 6.0 is progressing nicely, and decisions are now being made about the final features to include in the release. We have collected a list of Product Suggestions received from customers and would like you to provide feedback about which feature would be most valuable at your organization.

Research Group Reports on Enterprise Asset Management Software

Aberdeen Group, a research and market intelligence firm that has surveyed 30,000 companies in the past two years, recently released their findings in regards to where they believe enterprise asset management software is heading in 2012. If you’re in the field of facilities management, then you already know how crucial this element is to your operations; but Aberdeen’s findings underscore just how important it is to have enterprise asset management software that you can rely on. Our software is designed to be simple to use so that you can focus on your operations themselves rather than wasting time fretting over the program that runs them.
Getting back to Aberdeen, their findings were published in “Enterprise Asset Management 2012: A Data Driven Predictive Approach to Maintenance” by Senior Research Associate Nuris Ismail. In his research, Ismail discovered that businesses that are leading their respective industries are taking advantage of asset management tools to cut back on operational expenditures, to boost profits and even to up their competitive standing in the marketplace. We don’t have to tell you how fierce competition can be these days, so you want to take advantage of any opportunity you have to get a leg up.

Those in the manufacturing biz, for example, are routinely asked to get the biggest return possible out of every last asset at their disposal. In order to do this, they need to strive to keep said assets up and running and plan around any unforeseen failures. The report, which you can access here, details how professionals in the manufacturing business can bump up availability, reliability and safety of their assets, people and products with enterprise asset management software.
